Does anyone know if there is either a free, or a low cost demo of any scanning program? Kerzweil or open book. I'm going to school in January, and won't have the full version from the commission in time. Thanks!!

both k1000 and open book do offer free demo. not too sure about openbook, but k1000 allows you to use 30days on demo mode, before you needing to register.

As I recall, you can download K1000 from Kurzweil's website. Just google Kurzweil Educational Systems and you'll find it.

i found this on the freedom scientific website on Open Book
The demo version of OpenBook will install in 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows® 7, Windows Vista® and Windows 2008 Server, 32-bit versions of Windows
XP and Windows 2003 Server, and Windows 2000 operating systems.
